About Theory Test & Hazard Perception Preparation
You must pass the theory test before you can book your practical driving test. It has two parts in one sitting: a multiple-choice section (50 questions drawn from the official DVSA question bank, covering the Highway Code, road signs and safe driving practice — you need 43 correct to pass), and a hazard perception section (14 video clips of everyday road scenes, each with at least one developing hazard you click as soon as you spot it — scored out of 75, with 44 needed to pass). Both sections must be passed on the same attempt; passing only one means resitting the whole test.
